TOMORROW: Saturday 29th June, I'm going to be hanging out and signing books at The Book Barge in Lichfield. Yes, that's right: it's a bookshop on a boat! I'll be there 2pm-4pm with Sarah, who owns the Book Barge (and whose book 'The Bookshop That Floated Away' is out later this year). Come and say hello! It's a beautiful shop and you can find the boat at Barton Marina, Barton under Needwood, Staffordshire, DE13 8DZ.
To celebrate reaching 5000 followers over on the 'Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops' Facebook page, I'm giving away 50 handwritten postcards. They can have a NEW 'Weird Thing...' written on them, or a couple of lines from one of my poems, whichever you'd prefer.
I'll post to anywhere in the world. It's a first come first served basis. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, address, and whether you'd prefer a poem or a Weird Thing... and I'll send a postcard to you.
I'll edit this post when the postcards have run out. If you're reading this in a subscription email, click here to see the original blog post and make sure the giveaway hasn't closed. GIVEAWAY CLOSED: That's all 50 postcards claimed, folks. Thanks very much to those who got in touch, and apologies to those who are just seeing this message now. I do a postcard giveaway about once every six months, though, so there will be other opportunities.
Signed copies of 'Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops' and 'More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops' are 20% off this week. Details over here.
Also, there's a giveaway for two copies of the North American version, 'Weird Things Customers Say in Bookstores' over on Goodreads.
Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops has just gone to its 7th reprint! Thank you all so much for buying the book and spreading the word, & to all the lovely booksellers who are selling it, too! You're all wonderful.
At 2pm, there'll be a lunch at The Plough Inn, where I'll also be talking about More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops. Ticket details over here. If you don't want to come along to the lunch - there's a public signing at 4pm.

From the oldest bookshop in the world, to the smallest you could imagine, The Bookshop Book examines the history of books, talks to authors about their favourite places, and looks at over three hundred weirdly wonderful bookshops across six continents (sadly, we’ve yet to build a bookshop down in the South Pole). The Bookshop Book is a love letter to bookshops all around the world.
